OVERVIEW

The National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore, is the nation’s teacher education institute and an integral part of Singapore’s education service.

NIE required a contemporary and versatile design template for its research reports, capable of presenting diverse research findings and data with clarity and consistency, while remaining aligned with its institutional identity.

• A structured visual system: A flexible grid, typography and colour palette were developed to create a consistent foundation for presenting different types of research content.
• Clearer data visualisation: A cohesive visual language was established for charts, graphs, tables, iconography and illustrations to make research findings easier to navigate and understand.
• A versatile report template: The design system allows the structure and visual elements to be adapted according to the nature and complexity of each research report.
• A comprehensive application guide: The template was supported by detailed guidelines covering typography, colour, layout and the application of visual elements for consistent use across future publications.
